By commissioning me, you agree to these terms of service.By accepting a commission, I, Yao Weiying, agree to these terms of service.

Do's

  • Anime / fictional characters

  • Original characters

  • Real people

  • Armour

  • Light Gore

  • Light NSFW

  • Mythological / fictional creatures

  • Real animals

  • Robots (But have no experience with it)

  • Furries (But have no experience with it)

Dont's

  • Heavy gore

  • Heavy NSFW

  • Mech

  • Heavy political artwork

  • Anything that is overly hateful / discriminatory / etc.

Pricing

All prices are a guideline and subject to change depending on each specific commission. (All prices are in USD)The below is applicable to people, robots, furries, animals, and creatures.

Portrait

Bust

Adding Additional Characters

The same guide as outlined above will be followed, but with a 25% reduction. For example, if you wanted another rendered full body character, it would be an additional $90.This can be negotiated in special circumstances. For example, if the additional character is far in the background and will not take much work to draw.

Full Illustration

120$ - 400$Will be negotiated and subject to change depending on the piece. A full illustration includes the sketch, line, base colour, and render phase.I retain the right to deny any commission request at my discretion.

Payment

All payments will be made upfront before I start the piece via Zelle, Paypal, or Venmo. All pricing is subject to change depending on the specific piece. For example, the complexity of the piece, number of characters, addition of a background, and overall quality will be considered.If the commissioned artwork is priced at over 400$, a separate payment plan may be negotiated.

Refund Policy

  • 100% refund if I have not started drawing.

  • 60% refund if the sketch / line art has been completed.

  • No refunds once the artwork is fully completed.

Process and Revisions

I will begin once I have received payment. I will send progress pictures after every stage, and after making revisions based on client requests. The client may also request to see progress of the artwork at any time.There is a maximum of 4 free revisions per stage. Requesting more revisions afterward will incur additional charges.

  • Rough sketch: Client may request any size of changes at this stage. Ie, changing the angle or pose.

  • Refined sketch Client may request general changes at this time. Ie, tilting the head or moving the arm.

  • Base colours Client may request the same changes as in "Refined Sketch" phase.

  • Light and colour Client may request small changes at this time. Ie, changing the hue of a colour or adding buttons.

  • Render Client may request very minor changes at this time. Major changes during and after rendering will incur additional charges.

The final artwork will be sent as a PNG via email unless otherwise negotiated and specified by the client.The time frame for completion of a full artwork will vary depending on each piece, typically 2 weeks to 1 month.If the artwork is needed sooner, the client may request it, and I will put priority on the piece. There will be no additional rush fees, but I make no guarantee to deliver the artwork sooner.

Rights and Usage

As the artist, I retain all rights to the commissioned artwork I make, including but not limited to, ownership and usage. I retain the right to post the commissioned artwork on any platform and portfolio. I retain the right to use the commissioned artwork for promotional purposes.The commissioned artwork is not to be used for commercial purposes, NFTs, or AI related projects unless explicitly agreed upon through an additional agreement with the client.

Commercial Use & Copyright

I retain all copyrights to the commissioned artwork. This commission gives the client personal usage rights. If the client wishes to use the commissioned artwork for commercial purposes, including but not limited to, merchandise and marketing, additional copyright charges will apply. These must be negotiated prior to starting the commission.If the client decides to use the commissioned artwork for commercial purposes after the commission has been completed, the client must reach out and obtain permission from me, the artist, and additional copyright charges will be charged.Proper credits must be given when displaying my work in any setting such as tagging me or mentioning me as the artist with my artist name: Yao Weiying.

Client Responsibilities & Communication

The client is responsible for providing a clear explanation of the commission request, along with sufficient references for me to deliver something satisfactory to the client. Rude or disrespectful behaviour will result in cancellation of the commission. If this occurs, I will refund you according to my refund policy depending on what stage of drawing I am at.Both parties are responsible for communicating in a professional, respectable, and kind manner. Rude behavior is grounds for cancellation. Both parties are responsible for upkeeping good communication. This means communicating frequently and consistently.If there is no response from the client within 2 weeks, the commission will be cancelled. A refund will be processed according to my refund policy once I have regained contact with the client.
